01 / The story

Distilling Korn
since 1664.

The Schwarze story begins in 1664, when a grain distiller named Joan Schwarze first appears in the church archives of Westphalia.

Thirteen generations on, it remains one of Germany's oldest family-owned businesses — moving to Oelde in 1738 and, around 1990, uniting with the historic H.W. Schlichte house of Steinhäger.

Today it balances heritage Korn with modern hits like Three Sixty Vodka and Knut Hansen Gin — and the honey liqueur Bärenjäger, a market leader carrying 225g of honey in every bottle.
