A Cognac dynasty
turns to whisky.
The Giraud family worked as coopers and cellar masters in Cognac for over a century before turning that craft to French malt whisky.
Named for cellar master Alfred Giraud (1887–1964), the modern house — led by the fifth generation — blends French malt with a Cognac-house philosophy of patient élevage.
Maturation is built around scarce extra-old Cognac casks the family alone can source through century-old ties. Output is tiny: some expressions run to a handful of casks a year.
